School Council
What is a School Council?
A school council is a group of pupils who are elected to represent the views of all pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community. Each year voting takes place for the children who have been campaigning to be elected to the School Council. The children meet with Mrs Litchfield regularly to talk about issues and share ideas affecting the daily life of the school.
What do we do?
-
Our school council meets to discuss and sort out problems and ideas. These may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events/ fun school events.
-
Members of the school council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning charity events and putting forward views of other children in the school.
Elections
Candidates for our school council are elected by members of their class and elections take place each September. Our council consists of 2 members from every year group, starting at Year 1 through to Year 6.
Have you got any ideas?
If you have any ideas you would like to share, please email and we will discuss these at the next School Council Meeting. Thank you!
